G̈ayè-oni Fêqê (/ˈg̃ajè/ /ˈoni/ [happy] [orphan]) is a subtropical Town located in the Mèhcebî Zone of the Union of Engineers.

The name G̈ayè-oni Fêqê is derived from the Iron Elvish language, as G̈ayè-oni Fêqê was founded by Tshegaresm Shêpîtco, who was culturaly Iron Elven.

Climate

G̈ayè-oni Fêqê has a yearly average temperature of 21°C (69°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 26°C (78°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 17°C (62°F). G̈ayè-oni Fêqê receives an average of 232 cm/y (91 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. G̈ayè-oni Fêqê covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 8596 m (-14747 ft) above sea level.

Overview

G̈ayè-oni Fêqê was founded durring the late 13th century in winter of the year 1180, by Tshegaresm Shêpîtco. The establishment of the new community went well, though many minor issues had to be solved as time went on. This was enough to delay construction and push back the formal opening ceramony, leading to some embarisment for Tshegaresm Shêpîtco.

G̈ayè-oni Fêqê was built using the conventions of Iron Elven durring the late 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and G̈ayè-oni Fêqê is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature plaster covered brickwork used to form structures with an emphasis on symmetry, proportion, geometry and the regularity of parts. Orderly arrangements of columns, pilasters and lintels, as well as the use of semicircular arches, hemispherical domes, niches and aediculae can be found everywhere such that only size of building and yard can be used to measure the general prosparity of a given building's owners due to a general wealthy feeling the style gives off.

G̈ayè-oni Fêqê is buildings are arranged arround a network of broad cobblestone streets which form a grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town rests behind a thick wall made from clay bricks. The wall has all of the proper fortifications and is well made. Unfortuantly the nature of clay brick leaves it quite vulnerable to siege equipment, though the thickness of the wall lends it simmilar resistnace to a thinner hardrock wall. G̈ayè-oni Fêqê's millitarily questionable fortifications are in an unremarkable state. To some, this is the ideal sate for defences to be in. In need of absoutly nothing, and ready to serve the town as needed.

Even the most brief look arround G̈ayè-oni Fêqê has a good chance of putting a church or shrine into the center of your view. The town is most certainly a god fearing community. It’s also definitely a god loving community. THe streetcornors are occupied by preachers, with the occasional intersection playing host to an actually friendly debate relating to the merits of various gods. Even the less popular as well as the less politically loved gods seem to have a space in G̈ayè-oni Fêqê, there’s even shrines to gods known to the region only through hearsay.

Civic Infrastructure

G̈ayè-oni Fêqê has an animal control department which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the control, impoundment, and disposition of animals.

G̈ayè-oni Fêqê has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within G̈ayè-oni Fêqê. G̈ayè-oni Fêqê has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for G̈ayè-oni Fêqê's natural decorations nor waterways.

Cultural Notes

G̈ayè-oni Fêqê's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is admittedly strange and non-linear style rooted in defiance of symmetrical shapes. It championed the creation of buildings with a unique visual appearance. the structural norms of classic buildings and deforms or moves away from elementary architectural principles. By including non-linear designs processed into its buildings and favoring fragmentation, this style expressed a form of controlled chaos. Its buildings appear out-of-the-ordinary, draw the eye in immediately and sometimes create a feeling of strangeness. These distorted shapes and structure are not reserved to the building’s outer facade, they destabilize interior elements too, favoring minimalism and play on people’s perceptions by injecting a futuristic touch.

In G̈ayè-oni Fêqê every night at precisely midnight every structure in town is engulfed by sailors fire until the end of the witching hour.

The Dlurgraven near G̈ayè-oni Fêqê are known to be almost tame, such that they can be put to domestic use.

G̈ayè-oni Fêqê's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in summer and involves sex to channel Necromancy energies of tier 3 via recitation of poetic epics.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century, G̈ayè-oni Fêqê was attacked by soldiers from another nation, waging a greater campaign. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is G̈ayè-oni Fêqê lost 288 people, 239 livestock, and 87 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 64, when members of G̈ayè-oni Fêqê's militia enacted an operation to recruit a specific noble. The operation was complicated by the officers in charge fight among themselves, weakening the army as a whole. The conflict ended with an assault and siege on the bridge, which ended in a stalemate for G̈ayè-oni Fêqê's forces. The war is remembered in legend by G̈ayè-oni Fêqê's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
